Flash CMS TemplatesBefore the days of inline skates, ‘Roller Gardens’ was a popular destination for school field trips and some weekend afternoons. I loved to circle the rink under the magical disco ball, and glide smoothly around the floor to the rhythmic songs of my time. One Saturday, out shopping with my mother, I noticed a pair of roller-skates in the Sears department of our local mall. I had to have them! Much to my chagrin, I found the steel-wheeled skates awkward, clumsy and uncomfortable. I grinded my way down the sidewalk, nearly shaking loose both fillings I’d acquired from the dentist that year. The skates never saw the light of day again, and I learned a valuable lesson; you get what you pay for.
