Talia DentonTalia Denton fashioned her own designer website using a free Flash template and the free website builder. Ms. Denton’s personal website was created to promote herself as a graphic designer and a web designer. Using a clean and minimalist design, she produces a space in which to exhibit her graphic design portfolio and web design portfolio. She also employs the website to communicate information about herself and the reasons she became a designer.

Ms. Denton uses the contact form widget to make it easy for visitors to get in touch with her and displays an Adobe Reader icon through which one can download her resume. The free website builder allows her the freedom to craft a personal design and use the website itself as a further example that showcases her design talents, making it the ideal resume for her as a web designer.

Ms. Denton utilizes distinct galleries located on separate pages to display different types of design work. Thanks to the clean and simple format she can easily maintain and update the website and also add many gallery and portfolio pages without disrupting the basic layout and structure of the free Flash website.

Talia Denton holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Art Institutes International in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Artist Statement
Immersed in my work, I am able to silently express my thoughts and feelings freely, while opening new doors to realms of my mind I have never before experienced. Creating art is a romantic relationship between you and the piece that is being created. Your soul is dancing and playing with color, conveying emotions for others to feel. Inspiration comes from everything around me from riding a city bus to taking a walk around the block. When you are an artist, inspiration comes unexpectedly and can leave just as easily. Minutes, hours, days and weeks are of no concern, for when working in my studio, only perfection of the piece matters.

Growing up I was influenced by my grandfather, a major graphic designer, designing logos, packaging, and advertising literature for organizations as small as a Girl Scout council to local businesses such as Welch Village, to major national and international corporations such as Wonder Bread, 3M, and EcoWater. My father also inspired me. I would sit for hours watching him paint meticulously with an array of colors from cool blues with violet hues to bright shining yellows. Both of these men taught me how to perfect a line and expand my ideas, and to reach for a standard I may think is an impossible endeavor – to dream the impossible dream and reach that unreachable star.
